Board of Directors Application

We would first like to thank you for your interest in joining the Service d’aide aux conjoints as a volunteer board member.

We are looking for individuals with the following qualities:

  • A demonstrated commitment to and alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, values, strategic and operational priorities, and bylaws;
  • Integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of ethics;
  • Strong listening skills and an open mind in the face of differing opinions and debates;
  • Availability and active participation in board activities;
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • The ability to express ideas clearly and respectfully.

Before doing so, please note the following eligibility exclusions. The following individuals are not eligible to serve as board members:

  • An employee of SAC – Service d’aide aux conjoints;
  • An immediate family member of an employee;
  • A person who does not meet the qualities sought for board membership.

    Requirements to serve as a board member:


    1. Not be under guardianship or curatorship;

    2. Not be an undischarged bankrupt;

    3. Not have been found guilty of an indictable offence in the past 5 years;

    4. Not be a person prohibited by a court from holding this position;

    5. Not have been found guilty of a criminal or penal offence in Canada, and not be subject to any pending charges for such an offence;

    6. Be a member in good standing of the corporation.*
